Homebrew Quick question regarding Chrono Trigger DS

Is it possible for me to change a Japanese .sav file of a patched Chrono Trigger DS(JPN) to English and transfer it over to my US cartridge, or will the game not accept it because of the patch?

(use rudolph's 3in1 ds dumper to put the save file on the cart)
