If I want to play a PS3 game on an external HDD and the movie file is >4gb it seems I have to use opensplit / split4g to do the job right?

My question is this :

1) If the filename is movie1.sec (6gb)

So split4g will split it up into :

movie1.sec
movie1part1.sec
movie1part2.sec

So do I need to rename it to :

movie1.66601
movie1.66602
movie1.66603

In order for multiman / open manager to know how to handle it? Or must I copy it to the internal HDD and let it merge?

The main thing is, can these 2 managers handle the split files "filename.666xx" in a external HDD to play the game?

Please amend any mistakes which I may have made, thanks...

I am not sure if you have to copy the split games over to the internal but I guess you have to... Not sure at all though.

I used the splitter once and it named all my files the correct way without me doing anything. But sure I might be wrong and thinking about something else.
