Hacking Questions about NTR CFW

I hope this isn't too much of a noob question, but I haven't seen anywhere telling me this.
Does installing NTR CFW overwrite/override Luma?
NTR CFW is in .cia form, so I assume it only does its thing until reboot or closing of the .cia, but could I get some clearing up on this?

Ntr is not really a cfw, it co-exist with luma. You're correct; it's only active till reboot.

Thank you a bunch. This clears it up. That's what I assumed; it's just confusing considering it's called "cfw".
