ROM Hack [Question] Pokemon Ultra Moon CIA build error

I recently was told that backing up one's own files of a 3DS game was legal (personal use, no distribution), so I was using godmode9 to back some games up into `.cia` files.

Pokemon Ultra Moon (US Version) didn't quite work in such an operation. It would sit for about half a minute, then tell me that the "CIA Build failed". Any resolutions/reasons? Thanks.

Note: if it isn't legal, tell me that instead. Rather not screw myself :)

EDIT: It's cartridge, not download

Do you actually have enough room on your SD card? The game is like 3.4GBs, 99% I get "failed" error is when I'm out of space, so make sure you have plenty for starters. If that isn't why, then we'll look for alternatives.

3.4 Gigs? Dang. Alrighty then; that's probably why. Only have an 8 gb sd card
