Hello there. Maybe that I am totally stupid or I just don't understand, but why can't you directly connect hardmoded 3DS to USB port? I guess it is because of the voltage in USB, but can't I just use some resistors to lower the current? Thanks for your answers

Nope, the protocol used in communicating with NAND is different that of USB, that is why you use a SD card reader, it is compatible with the NAND chip
