If in 2 months the wii u hasn't updated from 5.5.1(unlikely), will you release your exploit, or still play the waiting game?
Actually, it works like this.It doesn't mather when or if Nintendo releases an Update. Because next day they can release another Update.
Version 5.3.1 U:
Released December 1st, 2014
Version 5.3.2 U:
Released December 5th, 2014
Exploit-Devs just make sure Nintendo won't fix it by waiting until the Wii-U Homebrew-Scene is dead.
This a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. It doesn't matter how long you wait to release it, Nintendo will patch it regardless, they can release a firmware update whitin days, is not like after they release the next firmware update they will stop, well at least we are talking about waiting until NX time frame.Actually, it works like this.
There's a 5.5 kernel exploit working and ready for release. The developers are keeping it because Nintendo may not know about the entrypoint/vulnerability.
Now, if Nintendo releases a new firmware, and the entrypoint isn't patched, then the exploit automatically works for that firmware.
If we release it now and Nintendo finds out, they'll patch it. Then, the exploit works only for 5.5 and a new exploit must be found for the next firmware.
What is the best outcome here? If we had two exploits, one would be released and the second would be kept. Easy.
But we only have this one, and it's best to keep it compatible and reliable.
Doesn't really matter anyway; the question can be answered by anyone. If you have a question for those two why not PM them? Why make another thread?
Nikki's a dude, and Loadiine on 5.5.1 was a hoax afaik. Loadiine is already out and still being developed on 5.4 and 5.3.2I can't find it right now but when nwplayer talked about loadiine if that's what you're also referring to she said she would "probably" release it when it's fully done
Saying that is inconsiderate; seeing as the IOSU exploit works on every firmware up to 5.5.1. It's the same thing with jailbreaking: everytime a new software version patches an entrypoint, another one has to be made. Even though groups make jailbreaks public to be the best and most known among their community, we have none of that stress here since we're trying to keep the flaws in for more compatibility. This a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. More like "don't update because Nintendo update for you" =pGame console security in 2016: Don't update = hacks.
Ill be honest I thought she said on Twitter once that she was a girl I think it's even in her bio? And oh where did she say loadiine on 5.5.1 was a hoax?Doesn't really matter anyway; the question can be answered by anyone.

He said his gender is never the same across sites. And you should check out the locked thread "NWPlayer got Loadiine on 5.5" or something, I didn't care enough to look it up.Ill be honest I thought she said on Twitter once that she was a girl I think it's even in her bio? I'm not doubting the developer skills, just saying it's getting to the point where finding an entry point is harder and harder, it looks like Nintendo has the ball in its side this time around.Saying that is inconsiderate; seeing as the IOSU exploit works on every firmware up to 5.5.1. That's exactly why we're keeping the exploitsI'm not doubting the developer skills, just saying it's getting to the point where finding an entry point is harder and harder, it looks like Nintendo has the ball in its side this time around.
Then again that's asuming that Nintendo can't find security holes in its end. That's exactly why we're keeping the exploits
