Hacking Question about StreetPass (Homepass?)

So I was playing Yo-Kai Watch and there is this said yo kai that you can get just by street passing but I don't have many friends who play or have 3ds or know anyone and I have heard something called Homepass does that still work and if it does anyone give me any idea on how it works and so on or if there is a other way to get it as a hack or something thank you guys for the help
