ROM Hack Question about Pokèmon Green save file

Today i buy the digital version of Pokèmon Green, the exsclusive game for japan, using the e-shop. For curiosity i try, on my PAL system, to export the save file from my Pokèmon Red VC. I was surprise when i see that it works correctly with out problem, so i was able to import my original save file from the cartridge. I play Pokèmon Green via translation on PC, my question is the product save file can works correctly if i import on my console? Even if the save file i have on pc is from a fan translation of the game?
