I'm gonna leave my console for a while now, but I'm worried about the battery. I don't known what's the battery's technology but if it's Li-ion battery, I believe it's best to leave it with a certain charge to preserve battery life. What's the best advice for my 3DS to ensure the battery doesn't die out while I won't use it?

Store cool, dry and at about 50% charge.

Li-ion ages faster when stored fully charged and when warm or even hot. But don't store a battery almost completely discharged - self discharge might destroy the cell in months. If storing for several years (not recommended) use the battery once in a while to remain a sensible charge level.

Keep in mind that li-ion ages, whether in use or simply lying on the shelf. you can slow down the process, but not stop it.

On any model but the N2DSXL it's super easy to remove the battery (to protect the console from the worst case of a leakage).

Charge to 50% battery life. Remove the battery and keep it separate from the 3DS system due to risk of slow electric leak and possible damage from swelling or bloating. Put the battery in a dark, cool, and dry storage.
