Gaming Question about Gen B-2 and Standby mode

I was curious (Mainly because i didnt want to risk it again), but can you use Standby mode during any games? I tried during Naruto Shippuden Legends, and ended up having to reset all of my PSP's settings (Like date and time and my CFW settings)

I tried it on PSP-1000 running Gran Turismo and Megaman X PSP but I did not freeze / reset / glitch of any sort

I just hold R+switch the power. It puts it into hibernation which is better than sleep.

. Its wierd that hapenned when i was playing Naruto though.....my PSP bugged out and froze, then when it rebooted, a wierd blue screen showing error messages in like 100 languages popped up. Then i had to reset all of my data.
