Will the cheat codes for New Super Mario Bros Wii work on all the Newer Team Mario Wii games?

Depends on if the people that made Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii shifted where the code is stored. If the data is still in the same place, it could work.

Cheat codes usually are no more than going to a specific point of the code, and rewrite the necessary values. If the data you want to modify has been changed, it will still replace whatever it is there now, and could cause any sort of glitch or problem.

Sorry I can't give you a direct answer, I never tried using cheats with Newer SMBW.

I know I said this in a different post, but since NewER Super Mario Bros Wii is based off of New Super Mario Bros Wii it should work the same, because some game mechanics like jump, and sprite code is all the same. Its just different maps. If you want to affect the way enemies work with Gecko codes, it should work since the enemies are the exact same, just thrown in a whole new world. I don't see why the Gecko codes for NSMBW won't work with Newer. Give it a shot. I have used cheats on many different emulators, and consoles, that I never usually encountered issues.

Im guessing I can just rename the code file for New SMBW with the GameID of the Newer game I want to use cheats on. I'll try it and report back.

Alright, but if it doesn't work try and use the exact same titleID for New SMBW on Newer, and try and run with Ocarina on. See if it works then.

How can you get a Newer gameID [SMNE23] to read a txtcode with a NSMBW gameID [SMNE01] ?? The only thing I can think of is renaming the txtcode file with the gameID of the Newer title I want to use the cheats on.

And yes, I know to turn Ocarina on.

Basically, you should name the folder "SMNE23". Put it in the folder called "GeckoCodes" on the root of your SD card. Now you want to make sure they are .gct files, or else things like USB Loader, and NeoGamma can't read them. They can't read .txt alone. On GeckoCodes there is an option to download the file as .gct so you don't have to convert them. Go ahead and select the cheats you need from New Super Mario Bros Wii from on the website.

Once they are downloaded, put the SMNE01 cheat codes in the SMNE23 cheat code folder under the GeckoCodes folder, and try and run with Ocarina On.

Lemme know if this changed worked.

*If your using NeoGamma and it hangs at a Green Screen, try every hook type until it loads the game! This is normal, and common when trying to run cheats along with a wii game!

I use USB Loader GX and all my .txt cheat files are in a folder "txtcodes". Than I use the loader menu for a game to create the gct file. I dont want to change the path directory in settings just to read one folder. Its not that important to me.

I say this to many people, and I may be bias but NeoGamma is just the best and a more automatic process, and you can just download the .gct file, put it on your SD card in the desired folder, and NeoGamma will automatically find and attach the cheat to the game while you play. It won't stay to the game after you leave and go back to the Home menu. the .gct file would be unattached at that point. All you will have to do then is just turn ocarina on again, and set the hook type. Trust me it might be easier to use.

*EDIT* since you already have your folder called txtcodes, that good too. Just make sure you get the .gct file in there. I believe the cheats have an 80% of running with the game.

you just rename the .txt cheat file with your newer game ID. Mine is SMNE03 for example. You just place that in your txtcodes folder you already have and then create the gct file in USBloader gx like you said. This method works for any of the new super Mario wii mods.
