i was just curious to if you could change the .sav location of the backups played on a gateway card to a SAV folder on the root of your SD card because after you start to play a decent amount of backups on your SD card starts to fill up with the .sav files. an example i was thinking of was editing the gateway Launcher.dat with a hex editor and seeing if the .sav file location configuration is in there.

Nope. They all go to the SD card that is internally in your 3DS. The easiest thing you could do would be change all your roms to Card2. Then it would save to the rom rather than the SD card. But you would have to backup all your roms before reformatting the SD card if you ever needed to. But I think how the GW works is internally in the GW hardware it's self via firmware. I remember my GW card had to update when I bought it too.
