Hi,
On my last modem that I got from a previous company, I used the WAN port of my WiFi router to connect my ADSL modem to it. Now I got a new modem from Datak and I tried the same thing, as you probably suspected so far, no luck. The problem is I can't "connect" to my DSL model via WiFi modem's config page.
I desperately connected my DSL modem to one of LAN ports of my WiFi router, and it works, even without connecting to my DSL modem or even providing password for it.
The reason I'm asking you is why do you think this settings works, what are disadvantages of this setting. I'm asking mainly because the manual of WiFi router stressed on connecting DSL model through its WAN port, the way I did with the previous company's modem.
Thanks.
