Homebrew [Q] Updating EmuNand to 10.6 and updating games from different regions?

I couldn't find an answer for this. I know you can access the eShop just by updating the EmuNand to the most recent but wanted to know what happens if you want to update a game from the same and different region? One Piece Grand Battle X says it has an update but I haven't updated to 10.6 EmuNand so wondering if I would even be able to update. Also, when it comes to games with the same region is it ok to let the eShop update the game?

It just "update" it for a couple of seconds, but you'll still get the update message and nothing changes.
