Yeah, you know you want this shitz. You might be curious about Legend of Kay, and the Mega Man Zero Collection will surely be a blast to have on hand, but when it comes to something you can truly sink your teeth into, there's probably nothing coming out this month -- or perhaps all year -- for DS that will offer as much bang for your...well, you're a dirty pirate, but you get my meaning.

I put in my time with Galactrix, trying hard to fully enjoy it, but the issues with the touch screen, along with hellalotta load screens, kinda turned me off after a while. I ended up running through Challenge of the Warlords again, and it's still around for whenever I need my match-three fix.

I'm really digging the new weapons system that is in PQ2, but most of all -- and I'm guessing this is going to be one of those "love it or hate it" type things -- I am excited that they have developed a more interesting overworld. Let's be honest, all you were really ever doing in CotW was moving from space to space repeating gem battles. Those battles are obviously tons of fun, as I know I'm not the only one to put in close to 200 hours with the game, but it will be nice to have more. The puzzle challenges seem more interesting, and the armor/weapons promise to play a much bigger role this time around.

Anyway, the game's out later this month, and I know many of us are eager to get our grubby little pirate hands on the ROM
game. Discuss...

In the first screenshot, I can't tell whose uglier. The guy on the left or the guy on the right

Seriously, look at his face and hair! I hope they have more avatars to pick from than in the first game...

Actually that haircut, is one that some swedish knights and even the king had in the 1500.
But yes, its ugly today

That hairdo always worked for Prince Adam of Eternia.

well, at that time you got a wife based on your parents choice, so it was never about looks to begin with.

Personally I am a bit upset the only home version available is on the 360 talk about a slap in the face to the multi-platform release of the first one.

On the DS is fine but give me some other options please!

Have they acknowledged the load times in galactrix were too often and too long? I really hope they took that into consideration for this game.

The loads were tedious, but not something I couldn't get over. I just hope the touch-screen gameplay works as well as CotW. Never had problems with that game. Galactrix, however, was very frustrating in that regard.

Can't wait can't wait can't wait. Puzzle Quest was something like six months worth of commute-time for me. Looking forward to another time sink of a game. (As long as it's better than Galactrix, which was... meh.)

I actually had occasional trouble with CotW. I swear there are times I'd tap the screen one time - once! - and it would think I selected a gem, then another gem next to it, and make that awful "break" sound and be like, "You fucking moron, that's not a valid move. Ten points from Gryffindor." Cost me the occasional early-game matchup...

The only thing I'm disappointed about this time around was that there's no PSP version. The PSP version was awesome. Better visuals and soundtrack. I know you may go "lol" at that for Puzzle Quest but the game actually looked in sounded great... For me at least. Not to mention a wider screen always helps.

But hopefully since it's a DS-and-XBLA exclusive effort, the DS version will get more tailoring to it.

Hmm...really? I imagine the presentation on PSP being much better, but I'd still much rather control the game on DS. That's part of what makes Puzzle Quest so addicting for me -- same with Bejeweled Twist.
