Hacking Putting AR cheats on the R4

Sorry if this doesn't belong here... I just took a guess.

ok. I know all the basics... created my own usrcheat file etc.

But I downloaded the usrcheat file from GBA temp http://cheats.gbatemp.net/

Great, it had 99% of the games I want to play.

But for that 1% I know there's codes out there, but they aren't on that list.

So, experimentally, I find the codes on the ARCM program, Stick them in personal coding, and manage to stick them in my own USRcheat file.

But when I try to modify the USR from gbatemp... it crashes my cheat code program for putting codes on the R4.

I even tried downloading the XML from the website, and uploading them that way onto the usr... and it gets 'most' of the way... to the M's I think... and then says 'error with the XML'.


So what I am asking, is if there is any way I can add cheats to the GBAtemp USR code list that I downloaded, so I don't have to access the GBA code list through the ARCM, and spend an hour or more sorting and picking out only 'what' games I want currently.

I know this has probably been covered before but, can Anyone help?

What games are missing that you want? Please not that the R4 ds has a bug where it cuts off the number of games that gets displayed for cheats. So the cheats may already be in the cheat database but your R4 is not displaying them. Please check http://cheats.gbatemp.net/files/GameList.txt to make sure that the game is indeed not in the cheat database. If not, post the codes in the cheat database topic and I'll add them to the next update.

I also suggest using YSMenu as well as it has better game compatibility over the R4 and doesn't have all the bugs the R4 has especially with the cheats now showing up.

Yes the games are in the game list... so the R4 just hates them.

Downloaded the r4cce... Much nicer then the one that r4 distributes... it actually opens your usr file... Thanks for that great find again.

As for the YSMenu... digging it up now to try.
