Well, here is my first selfmade theme, it's not perfect, but its a start.

Created another theme. It's a black/golden Henkaku one, with my favorite logos.

- Removed the lockscreen clock, I hated that damn thing, so I removed it.
- Added custom icons for Henkaku starter, easyRPGplayer, VITARW & VitaShell just edit your DB with SQLite and change the path.

As BGM I took something sad, no clue why, I just like the song. It's "Lilium musicbox"

I'm looking to create a theme and can't seem to find much documentation on it. Do I need to include a bgm when making it? Or can I leave that out and use the systems default bgm?

If you leave the BGM out and don't use one, you won't have music. If you want the default bgm, you need the default bgm file. c:

No, I just got the same one with some more backgrounds and custom icons. I'm also just using the golden one, I find it fitting for my black/golden vita. c:
My new version got 7 backgrounds, and a new custom Icon for ViraRebooter.

If you want to use the custom Icons, just change the path inside your DB with SQLite.
