Gaming PSP Keeps Freezing

Hi
I am recently having problems with my psp freezing

I'm playing Midnight Club: Los Angeles, just at the beginning.
I try going into one of the races and it freezes, and shortly turns off.
What can I do to prevent or stop this problem

Is it all games or only this one?

which firmware are you using?

Try changing the driver.

Some games using the wrong driver work at the start but then crash.

Try upgrading your firmware.
Try .ISO > .CSO vise versa.
Try re-downloading.

Disable your plugins (this can often be caused by too much stuff going on in the PSP's RAM already), disable UMD Cache if it's a UMD.

It's only on this game, and a few others.
I'm on 5.50 GEN-D3 (should've mentioned that earlier..)
So I can't update..
