This is obvious, but I just wanted to run this by you guys to double-check. If I get a PSP-2000 with 4.01 FW, I really don't need to update to 6.39 then downgrade to 6.20, do I? I could just update to 6.20 and install PRO? I know I sound so noob-ish but I am being careful about this, since I found a PSP like that but very pricey. The PSP I currently have is dying on me. =(

Yes, just updating to 6.20 and then installing PRO would be fine.

Edit....DAMN!

What's wrong with the one you have now?

Every PSP is hackable at the moment.

It's dying a slow painful death

Got a new psp 6.37 and I upgraded to 6.39. Then I installed the 6.39 PRO-B7 (temporary). The problem is this.
How to run backup games. Sorry for the stupid question but I just got to learn my ways into PSP's (I have a DS and I didn't cared about PSP mods+hacks)

Using ISO's and CSO's I put them to PSP/GAME folder. I saw that I need to put them on PSP/ISO folder, I made one by hand and I will try it again now...

EDIT: DONE!!! XD Google is my friend (and youtube)

Hi every1, I wana buy a new psp 3000, but can it be hacked no matter what I get (I mean the model or fimware) just to play roms of psp and some others like nes, snes, etc??

Or there is chance to get one that cant be hacked to play roms?

Thanks

As far as i know, ATM any firmware can be hacked, though at 6.39 its a temp hack and not permanent, meaning you will have to rehack it each time you turn it on again(Just use Fast Recovery)

I myself only recently got into the scene, so maybe what i said might be incorrect >_>

Hello, I need a bit of help with modding my PSP 3000. OK to start off I've been looking at this guide on how to mod my PSP, but I have a few concerns beforehand. I have the God of War PSP that was bundled with Ghost of Sparta and Kickass. I just ran PSP Module Checker and it shows that my PSP has motherboard 04g, which according to this guide is fully hackable. However, my concern falls to the firmware that I have. My current firmware is 6.39, I'm not sure of the firmware that it came with, but I think it was 6.31 and according to this guide I won't be able to downgrade to 6.20(even though it says up to 05g) if that's the case. Does anyone have a list or know where I can locate the exact firmware that came with the god of war ghost of sparta bundle?

some1's downgrader simply won't work if you try to downgrade it to 6.20 and it won't go. Run 6.39 PRO, check what it says in system info regarding the module, and if it's not an 07/09 then a perm 6.20 install is good to go.

I installed 6.39 PRO like you said, went to system settings and it shows Model: 04g...but the problem is i'm not 100% positive of what firmware the PSP came with. I can't remember if it came with 6.31 or if it went to 6.31 after updating through Ghost of Sparta.

What about UMDs? Will I still be able to play all of my UMDs plus any future ones? Also, what would happen if I downloaded PSN stuff onto my PS3 and than transfered it onto my PSP?
