triassic911 said:This is obvious, but I just wanted to run this by you guys to double-check. If I get a PSP-2000 with 4.01 FW, I really don't need to update to 6.39 then downgrade to 6.20, do I? I could just update to 6.20 and install PRO? I know I sound so noob-ish but I am being careful about this, since I found a PSP like that but very pricey. The PSP I currently have is dying on me. =(

keep it and use as a backup in case something happenstriassic911 said:Thanks guys, I will be buying the psp! Now I have no idea what to do with the one I have now...

Every PSP is hackable at the moment.

DonPachi said:Hi every1, I wana buy a new psp 3000, but can it be hacked no matter what I get (I mean the model or fimware) just to play ISO/CSO of psp and some others like nes, snes, etc??
Or there is chance to get one that cant be hacked to play roms?
Thanks

I installed 6.39 PRO like you said, went to system settings and it shows Model: 04g...but the problem is i'm not 100% positive of what firmware the PSP came with. I can't remember if it came with 6.31 or if it went to 6.31 after updating through Ghost of Sparta.xist said:some1's downgrader simply won't work if you try to downgrade it to 6.20 and it won't go. Run 6.39 PRO, check what it says in system info regarding the module, and if it's not an 07/09 then a perm 6.20 install is good to go.

So it's safe to do the downgrade?prowler_ said:If it's 04g, it didn't ship with 6.31
