Cool, thanks.
It's sure worth it for only £40 with no scratches.

EDIT:
It says in the guide:
"Downgrade from any firmware up to 6.38", so do I have to update to 6.38?
It's just that it will arrive only in a couple weeks, and 6.39 is coming out soon.

So let me get this right -
You can update to 6.38 (if you have the files) even when 6.39 will be available?
And then I downgrade to 6.35, check my motherbard to make sure I can downgrade to 6.20, update again to 6.38, downgrade to 6.20, install the hack. Or maybe I should skip the downgrade to 6.35 and downgrade straight to 6.20 (since it's a PSP go)?
Don't really understand all this modding, so forgive me for my ignorance.
Even my 1st PSP I let some random shop hack it for me :>
Thanks.

The downgrader will work on 6.35 as well, so you don't need to upgrade back to 6.38. While all the Gos people have seen are 05G, it doesn't hurt to go to 6.35 first and check.

Is there anyway I can check it? I remember getting my PSP around mid-April 2011, like the 13th or so?

6.37 came out in Jan, so it is possible your PSP can't be downgraded even to 6.35.
Has that actually been confirmed that the newer 3000 models with 6.37 pre-installed cannot be downgraded to 6.35? Aren't they still considered 09g?

A new pre-installed firmware in a freshly purchased console has historically indicated a new motherboard revision - e.g 3.60 was TA-085, then the next new pre-installed firmware was 3.71 in the TA-085v2.

If you really did get a brand new console which came on 6.37 installed it's likely it's a new motherboard and not an 09G. HOWEVER, given how busy Sony have been this seems unlikely.

So if I got my PSP brand spanking new at a retailer store in April, it probably is 09g. Anyway with this new 6.39 CFW/LFW, 09g models are still safe if it runs the temporary hack/LFW right? My unhacked PSP is running 6.38 right now

True; just install 6.39 with the fast recovery (the homebrew you activate in order to go into hacked state). it's much safer and easier to install than older CFW, which required Pandora + MMS or hellcat's recovery flasher. Although you can't use Pandora to un-brick newer models of psp, It's unlikely that you'll brick your psp, unless you install the permanent patch incorrectly.
