Hello everyone,

Apologies if this has already been addressed in a previous post, but I couldn't find any relevant information through Google searches. I recently acquired a 16 gb memory stick micro for my PSP Go, but for some reason, the stick isn't being detected by the PSP. The orange light for the memory stick flashes, but my system keeps telling me that there is no memory stick detected. I used contact cleaner on the stick, blew out the slot with compressed air, and hard reset my PSP, but none of those things fixed the issue. I know that similar issues have been addressed with other models of the PSP, but I couldn't find anyone experiencing a similar situation with the Go (unless they were using a micro SD card adapter). Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?

Here is a genuine Sony branded M2 16gb memory stick micro card.

Mine looks almost exactly like that, save for some of the numbers being different. I’ve come to the conclusion that something is wrong with the memory stick itself.

Unfortunately I don’t have an adapter. Right now I’m in the process of returning the memory stick, but the seller has been super cool and will check it himself, however I do have some time before I need to return it. I saw some adapters on Amazon, but does anyone have any suggestions on an adapter they know will work?

I got an adapter for my computer and the M2 just doesn't show up at all. My pro duo does, but not the M2, so I'm thinking something is really wrong.

The price was $50 and it was used. I actually might keep it because I happen to know someone who has a friend that is extremely well versed in memory sticks and might be able to fix it. Apparently outside of Sony, he is the leading expert in memory sticks.

I thought that could be the case too, but I was thinking that wasn't very likely. I don't know if M2 cards were faked a lot, plus even if it was fake, I don't think the seller knew it was a fake. He was very responsive to my messages and welcomed a return. If it is a fake though, the guy I'm having look at it should in theory be able to determine if it is real or not.

AliExpress sells remanufactured M2 cards up to 8GB.

Although I do not know why they have not made 32GB M2 cards as that is the limit for the Memory Stick Micro according to wiki.
