Hi, I am new here, I just bought a new PSP at half price, the firmware is 5.51, I am wondering if there is a way to Mod it.
If there is no way to mod it I can still exchange it, Is there anyway to tell the one I am buying is modifiable?

You can't mod a PSP 3000 with a firmware higher than 5.03.

I can exchange it, is there anyway i can tell the one i am exchanging for is under 5.03?

There are manufacture dates on the back of the box, before which date would the psp's firmware be good?
