I actually really like mgba, I use it all the time on my n3ds and vita. Typically I play Pokemon, which runs 55-60fps so if any future builds feature dynarec (not sure if it has it yet or not) or whatever optimizations I'm looking forward to it.
I'm having the same exact issue. 3DS firmware version 10.7.0-32U. No games are booting, and the system is locking up. Running mGBA 0.6.1.i tried loading a rom from this build and it's stuck on the "Loading..." screen and freezes my 3DS, any help?
Do you have the bios-file and the config.txt in the mGBA folder?I'm having the same exact issue. 3DS firmware version 10.7.0-32U. No games are booting, and the system is locking up. Running mGBA 0.6.1.
There's a config.ini, but all it contains is the last directory I've tried to open a ROM. I just tried putting in a gbc_bios.bin in that mGBA folder, but no change in behavior.Do you have the bios-file and the config.txt in the mGBA folder?
It was just drag and drop over for me. Something's wrong on your side. There's a config.ini, but all it contains is the last directory I've tried to open a ROM. I just tried putting in a gbc_bios.bin in that mGBA folder, but no change in behavior.
I've also tried looking around for where instructions for this would be, but have found nothing... Am I being an idiot (quite possible), or are the instructions on how to set this up not immediately apparent? I've checked the website, the readme contained in the Windows download (there is none in the 3DS 7z), and tried some basic Googling, to no avail.
Thanks!
3DSX or CIA?I'm having the same exact issue. 3DS firmware version 10.7.0-32U. No games are booting, and the system is locking up. Running mGBA 0.6.1.
All I see is this from the main downloads page for the 3DS build. Am I missing something? It was just drag and drop over for me. Something's wrong on your side.
I'm using the .CIA. Installed with FBI.3DSX or CIA?
A gba BIOS is not required to play games with the Emulator. All I see is this from the main downloads page for the 3DS build. Am I missing something?

For me: The 3DS has a much better Screen than the GBA and DS. Everything on 1 Handheld: GB/GBC GBA,NES, SNES, PCE, Megadrive/Genesis Emulator.i know its cool that this is becoming so good, but honestly, if you have real hardware whats the point of emulators, its like emulating PSP on the vita
well, non nintendo emulators are on the way to becoming great, but they havent gotten to PSP quality yet, though im confident that they will with due time. For me: The 3DS has a much better Screen than the GBA and DS. Everything on 1 Handheld: GB/GBC GBA,NES, SNES, PCE, Megadrive/Genesis Emulator.
Try the latest nightly. It's 0.7.0.0.6.1 .cia stuck at "Loading" screen.
why use retroarch and not an injector? just curious, because i can think of some valid reasons myselfAt first I thought to myself that this would be a great replacement for retroarch gpSP.
Then I downloaded the nightly and wondered why it ran like crap.
Then after reading a bit of the last couple pages I realized I'm an idiot because I never pointed mGBA to the GBA BIOS file on my SD card.
Gonna try that tonight and see how much better it performs.
