hello,i got this code, it's mean this PS5 ssd problem ? or contorl IC CXD90062GG? before my PS5 second beeps then BLOD, sometime it will into restore model(black screen and need connect contorller with cable). i check motherboard no had short. thanks advence and sorry my bad english.

update: i turn on the show bytecodes, then i off it, now get the new code, and i check errcode. mean is CXD90062GG broken. it's right? but this SSD/DDR4 had any problem??

Very strange output at all. (no commands/NG returns/partial error code description)
I guess this is not ps5 we tools.

Can you sent a dump of the nor data?

sorry, before i used wrong way in wee-tools. now i got the new codes.

errlog 0:DB
errlog 0:DB
OK 00000000 80C00140 170007C1 81BF0005 00000000 2179 0016 1F8A 176B:1D
errlog 1:DC
errlog 1:DC
OK 00000000 FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF:5A

other same errlog 1 message !
so error code is "80C00140"?
i check it's "80C00140 APU is not responding - GDDR6 data line problem"?
and if DDR6 chip broken, where can buy? or only form other PS5 console can take it?

Last edited by gavin25,
Error code 80C00140 can be caused by
- bga problem at APU
- liquid metal spill on top of the APU
- bga problem at GDDR6 ram ics

I would take used ones from a PS5 as replacement.
I couldn't find the exact model number for purchase on digikey/mouser/....
Micron (D9ZPL/9DXKV) and Samsung (K4ZAF325BM-SC14) GDDR6 ram ics can't be mixed.

Se você desconectar o cabo de alimentação do PS5 e conectá-lo novamente,
faz uma mensagem:

OK 00000000:3A
$$ [MANU] UART CMD PRONTO:36

Just a polite reminder for those having problem with finding serial port, the yellow 2 pins jumper has to be in the same position as picture in original post. The default yellow jumper was in the 2 pins on right side. If it is in the first 2 right pins the serial port number will not show in device manager and programme won't work,

Here a little image of my CH341A with a 3.3V mod for use with the TX/RX from southbride of the PS5.

There are different programs for communication:

PS5 wee tools: GitHub - andy-man/ps5-wee-tools: Tools for PS5 NOR manipulations
Here is a bit of manual typing commands necessary:

At main menu:
  • choose: (2: Terminal (UART))
  • choose correct COM Port with reader
  • press ‘CTRL+E’ to enter EMC cmd mode
  • type ‘errlog 0’
  • type ‘errlog 1’
  • … (there maybe more than one error)
  • answers looks like:
    errlog 0: OK 00000000 80810001 166A347C FFFF0042 00000000 217C 0004 FFFF FFFF:BA
The bold is the error number. You can check the error list for the meaning: PS5 UART commands | GBAtemp.net - The Independent Video Game Community
  • if the answer is FFFFFFFF you reached the end of the error logs
  • with ‘errlog clear’ you can reset all error logs

I did al those steps but I get an error when I open the program. Any idea why ?

If you have problems executing "andy man ps5 wee tools" at all, maybe check CST.
I tried the cst and wee tools and i got this code 808300f. It says “secure loader error”
Nothing else. Anyone any idea what I am doing wrong or what this code means?

Hello dear people, I have a problem and it is that it is not detecting anything directly.
-First, am I wrong or I see well? the pin15 of the ch341a is CTS in uart mode. in any case the pin to be lifted and soldered is the vcc pin28.
-second i did everything you posted but when i connect the 12v of the regulated source i have no response, in the terminal. even if i give the switch it makes the beep. but it turns off because there is something wrong. but the software (wee tools 1.5 & 1.7 that i bought it) does not read anything at all.
- I tried ctrl+e errlog 0 , 1 nothing.
-when i enter ctrl+b this : 00. when i turn on the 12v and when i turn off the same.

thx in advance.

Please swap the red and the blue wire at the CH341A.

See TX as mouth that talks and RX as ear that hears.

Please connect
TX (PS5) to RX (Ch341A)
RX (PS5) to TX (CH341A)

@stetofix Thanks so much for making this guide! Saved me from buying a UART reader :) If anyone's interested, I made a video here showing how to setup the CH341A to read error codes like stetofix explained:

Seems to be an issue with the XDPE controller:
E1200000 XDPE phase pwm controller error VRM 2 phases
E2200000 XDPE phase pwm controller error VRM 6 phases

I have a FT232RL FTDI "YP-05" module which I'm now assuming doesn't work with PS5 as I'm not getting the :
Code:
OK 00000000:3A
$$ [MANU] UART CMD READY:36

Any ideas? Getting 3.3V from both the TX and RX

I swapped the wires so its TX-TX and RX-RX and it works

8006xxxx = SoC GFX VRM power failure (6 phases)

I would check the vrm chips under the blue thermal putty and compare the surrounding components of each vrm chip with the other ones.

Hi @stetofix :)
I am checking the VCORE sector and in the 6 coils I have 0v in power on when I think it should have approximately 0.8v. The 12v are present. Is there another IC that generates those 0.8v or is that solved by the same mosfets that are there?
Thks

All six VRMs are generating the voltage parallel. The load on this VRMs variates depending on the power the APU needs.
Surounding each VRMs and on the backside are caps and resistors. I would compare them from VRM to VRM. Maybe you can measure a differnce and pin point a defect VRM.
