Nice to see people caring about something that's not "muh piracy!".

How far along is this? Does hardware acceleration work?

I'm building Ubuntu for it now, taking ages tho (only have USB v2 thumb drive).
Will let you know how well it runs once I have it booted.

im curious could this be used to boot the gentoo port of linmugen that was used in xmugen ya think? I can't download the file (my mega quote used up)

This is another step in the process..... We have, ftp, now we have Linux.... which will be next? Emulators or backup loaders???

Great idea im going for linmugen via ubuntu linux later

Sigh i tried to load the bzimage of xmugen but no luck makes me sad prob wrong res or needs to be pathed properly but it just seems like this perfect entry point for mugen on ps4 anyone more knowledgeable can help its really appreciated

hate to be a pain but can someone do this part for me? Otherwise I am all set:

Apparently I can't load into linux on ps4 without compiling a kexic.bin this is info I have so far:

"You need to compile kexec.bin using this source https://github.com/fail0verflow/ps4-kexec and place it into the root folder of the project before compiling this one."

more info here

https://github.com/valentinbreiz/PS4-Linux-Loader

I use https://github.com/idc/ps4-payload-sdk to compile it. You also need to compile https://github.com/fail0verflow/ps4-kexec and place 'kexec.bin' into this folder. Compile kexec with 'make CFLAG='-DPS4_4_05 -DKASLR -DNO_SYMTAB'.

Can anyone help? I imagine someone just needs to upload a working kexic.bin no? Or are they specific to distribution? I am using ubuntu-14.04.5-desktop-amd64. Otherwise followed everything else and nothing happens. Mucho appreciated.

If we can install DEs and shit and get a desktop this would be absolute tits. Heck, if consoles let us run Linux natively I wouldn't be so fast to tell them to fuck off. Good shit though.

what does Linux do for Ps4 ? What is the purpose ? An emulators ? :creep:
I mean, I have no idea how far this goes, but if we can get drivers for all parts then we essentially have a PC. Assuming this is kind of like what team0verflow showed last year, you could install Steam and play PC games and use it as a computer. So, anything, really.
