The PlayStation Vita isn't the only system that has scene news today, as a user named qwertyoruiop has done something huge with the PlayStation 4. On official firmware 4.06 he managed to get Kernel access through an exploit. Established PS4 hacker "Cturt" also tweeted out the following:

The web exploit is claimed to work on 4.xx firmwares, a huge advance compared to the previous exploited firmware, 1.76. There is no guarantee of a CFW or backup loader at this point in time, but it is still a huge breakthrough in the PS4 homebrew scene.

im sure if you got kernel access. wouldnt it be easy to get webkit access. knowing that webkit is like swiss cheese, full of holes.
Yea, most likely, you could probably get an app that supposedly uses webkit (presumably browser or the psn service checker) and RE, looking for possible flaws. Hopefully this 4.06/4.07 hack will open the floodgates to ps4 hacks :)

Gonna buy a PS4 Pro tomorrow. But I'm still updating it for the boost mode. Lets hope we will get something for 4.50. c:

Always as quick and well formated, you really are one of the best reporter of the website
are you doing vodoo magic or something because you are posting way too fast xD

There was a functional exploit as far back as 1.76 and still nobody has made a working CFW or backup loader? For shame.
Well, the number of people with a firmware that low was not worth it, it seems.

But now it's a different story. Exciting!

Heh, so how come PS4 is getting all these hacks before we ever get another PS3 hack? PS3 hack is like doomed at 3.55.
