Hardware Ps4 battery mod help

Hopefully this is in the right section... So, I have been looking up videos of taking the circuit board of a ps4 battery and attaching it to a larger capacity battery, as long as it is in the same voltage etc... So here's the question. I fucked up and used a fast boost phone charger to charge my controller and now it won't even turn on.. so is the battery fucked AND the battery circuit board??? Or just the battery?? Because if it's just the battery I figure I can just mod the circuit board to a different battery.. thoughts??
