Hardware ps3 hdd questions.

I want to swap hdd in my phat 60 gb ps3.
I know that it has to be 2.5 sata disk, but which 500-750 is the best?

Is there a way to transfer content of my current hdd on a new one? I mean something like connecting it into ps and using hdd clonning software. Would it work?

The amount of size is entirely up to you. If you have the money to afford and need the bigger harddrive then go for it. You can back up PS3 data using the PS3 back up software and restore it the same way
