Hacking Ps3 hard disk

Hello, I recently installed Han ps3xploit on my FAT ps3 (I want to also use my account with my legit stuff) and before doing so I upgraded my 40gb hard disk to a 320gb one, courtesy of a broken laprop.

My problem is that there is way too much used space and I don't know where that's coming from.

On my console it shows 298 gb of total space available and 228 gb of free space, which amounts to 70 gb of stuff on it.

My installed games amount to 20 gb plus the installed data of a retail disk (SH downpour), total around 24.5 gb.

This leaves me with 45 gb of WHAT?
I know there are system files and stuff, but that is too much, what could it be?
Did I have to format it on my pc before the ps3 formatted it?

Could be temporary files.
You could backup your saves and games on your computer and format the HDD again in the PS3.
