Hacking ps3 hacking: pkg, rap and reactpsn

hi,
I have a ps3 running Ferrox Cobra 4.82, reactPSN 2.30 and multiman.
I also have a backup copies of "Far cry 3" and "The last of us", both in .pkg format

I am trying to figure out how to install and run these games..

Far Cry 3 installs fine through the "install packages" tool in Ferrox, but whenever I start it it complains about a missing licence.
I tried to run reactPSN with no avail, as I have no rap file for the game.

The Last of Us seems to install fine but I can't see its icon under the 'games' menu.. and reactPSN does not even detect the game as installed.

My questions:
1) do I really need a .rap file? Is there a way around it?
2) if so, how to I generate a .rap file, if I have the pkg files?

I believe PSNDL has both .pkg and .rap-files for these games.
