I have a modded PS2 slim (if that helps of any sort), and for most of my playtime I've been using a cheap component cable for playing. It's had almost no problems when I play games or listen to audio CDs. Recently I've been wanting to build a DVD collection, but I noticed when I put in some DVDs I already have, the video becomes blank though audio still plays. My composite cable can still output DVD video fine though... Any way I can fix this?

Did you set the component output on the PS2 to the proper format? You can either output RGB or YPbPr through the component cable, and you have to select the correct one for your TV. Also, you have to make sure you pick the right channel on your TV, if you have component in then there should also be a component TV channel.

Yes I already checked the settings of my console, it's YPbPr, and set to component input

It's the modchip.

Disable it and/or mess with the settings if you can.

Thanks a lot, I changed some settings for my modchip and component DVD works perfectly now
