Hey mate. I just downloaded rebug 4.82.1 CFW and rebug tool box make sure you enable cobra mode. I Downloaded another ps2Rom placed them onto my PS3 ps2iso folder and multiman worked for me.

You need to enable Cobra. On Ferrox with cobra, its already enabled by default so no need to do anything.

In rebug you need to install the rebug tool box to enable it.
Instructions on how to enable it should be here.

Make sure you create a ps2iso folder on the root of your hdd like the person above me said.
thank you for the help i will try it out later

hay all, aftering my testing and such, I got 8 of 10 total of my ps2 games working,

some games have issues, one in particular:

PS2 games on PS3 Silm (4.82 CFW Rebug Cobra 7.54) Compatibility:

1) Kingdom Hearts I: Works fine only after adding save to Virtual Memory card.

(Without save file = black screen not loading)

2) Kingdom Hearts II: Works fine.

3) Dawn of Mana: Stuck on black screen*

4) Jak I: Works fine

5) Jak II: Works fine* (At x8)

6) Jak III: Works fine

7) Castlevania Lament of Innocence: Works fine

8) Castlevania Curse of Darkness: Works*

9) Kingdom Hearts Re Chain of Memories: Works fine.

10) Shaman King Power of Spirits: Works fine

Problematic Games:

3) Dawn of Mana:

Stuck on black screen (Pad 0 0 installation error?)

(maybe due to being patched with ESR Disk Patcher?)

8) Castlevania Curse of Darkness (NTSC): Works however, there are some graphical issues
(i.e in emeranos tower pink glitch on screen after leaving save room, and before fight with saint Germain)

Other:

5) Jak II (PAL): Works fine*

(It seems my copy of the game was burned wrong and didn’t rip well on ps3 (x2) = broken :(

After burning a new copy burned at (x8), game loads & works fine :) )

can a game patched with ESR patcher not load because of this?
if so, i.e dawn of mana's case,
I could just copy over my game from ps3 HDD to usb and remove the patch using ear "unlatch" option,
then make a new copy at X8 instead of x2?

X8 seems to works way better than x2 (sometimes).

maybe if I remove the esr patch on dawn of mana, it might fix "this black screen issue"?

also, if it is patched with esr, the patcher will tell you if it is or not, when you try to unpatch the game

Quick loading via Webman on XMB or Mulitman.

also, got the game covers working for all my games :)
just add the .jpg file to your ps2iso folder on ps3 and name it Exactly as the game in .iso.cue is named!

getting my ps2 old saves from my ps2 FMCB to work for my ps3,
you need to make a fresh/clean .VM2 ps2 memory card in memory card settings, then copy that .vm2 file in file manager os to your usb and
use a program on windows to wire your ps2 saves that are in .psu format (import to card each save (change .vm2 -> .ps2 to edit).
then rename .vps2 back to .vm2 and copy that back to ps3 using Multiman's manger :)

and it works :)

this method I found from some dude on another site, it was rather messy the expiation,
I made a better step by step guide of how I got it working for me,
um can I post it in the tutorial section of the ps3 forum here?

anwys, thanx to teamxpolit for this ofW hack & people in this thread who helped me with the ps2 stuff getting them to work :)

as I haven't been able to play my ps2 games for a very long time now, years (no ps2) :(
but thanx to this ps3 off hack I can finally play my old ps2 games and continue from my old saves from the past :)

also, since my ps3 is non BD, is it dangerous for the ps3 fan to be making such high sounds etc?
this is when it runs ps2 games,
is there any risk to this?
and is there any way to prevent the system from overheating or such?
I mean can the fan have a problem due to ps2 emulation?

also, if I wanted to backup my NOR or other stuff on ps3 to usb etc,
I can do that through rebug toolbox settings?

The fan running at high speed is from webman. You can disable it and go back to system default fan speed.

@Hking0036 linked to a list of ps3 ps2 compatibility. Not all games run perfectly.

@Hking0036 linked to a list of ps3 ps2 compatibility. Not all games run perfectly.

so, to disable it,
I go to webman settings -> uncheck "Enable dynamic fan control" option
and go back to back to system default fan speed?

also, if I use the default system fan for ps2 games, there won't be any issue?
or for ps2 games I need to use the webman fan, and for all other games (ps3), I should use the regular system fan?

um, the list that @Hking0036 posted,
I saw all the games I have 8 of 10 run fine,
I was looking at the wrong comparably list, lol

also, for getting "castlevania curse of darkness" & "dawn of mana" games to wrk with no issues,
according to the ps2 list in Hking0036's post, I need to use a .CONFIG file

PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List_-_PS3_Developer_wiki.jpg

PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List_-_PS3_Developer_wiki 2.jpg

do I need to manually make a .CONFIG file in text edit?
copy & paste the stuff for these games config from

Emulator Configuration

"PlayStation 2 on NON-BC Consoles
Note 2: Decrypted Config can now be used ,

place the CONFIG file in the same game path. An example below :

dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/God of WAR2.ISO

dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/God of WAR2.ISO.CONFIG

Decrypted CONFIG files are available via PSDEVWIKI"

I have the cobra ferrox. Will that just go straight over Rebug 4.82.1?

Yes, you can. Doesnt matter. :)

The site you posted are old and outdated. It will be great for people to retest and update it because Cobra and Rebug continue to improvement it.

Uncheck dynamic fan and syscon should be checked. Regular system default fan works fine for both ps3 and ps2..

yeah, well the PS3Wiki site has the various fixes for the ps2 games, but it's not clear on how to make a custom ".CONFIG" file.

after some searching I came across this "PS2 Config folder" posted by someone on pst place who has pre made .config files up for Download on Google drive:

https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/0B_gwzi9aJqA2RlgwaEtzSTBxVnM

I found the two .Config files for the games I wanted,
but them on my ps3 in ps2iso folder and renamed them to

"Dawn of Mana.ISO.CONFIG"
'Castlevania Curse of Darkness.ISO.CONFIG"

and booted up said games (1)....
and it worked!

that makes 9 of 10 games fully functional!

no more castlevania overload glitch that blocked me from Seeing things on screen etc :)
the dawn of mana Pad issue (Pad (0,0) is disconnected) is still present :(

maybe that is becasue the game was ESR patched?

also, in ps2 games, how can I take screenshots?

FUN FEATURE – In Game Screenshot
(Allows taking screenshots in Game)

Uncheck dynamic fan and syscon should be checked. Regular system default fan works fine for both ps3 and ps2..

nice, thanx for the help, SG854 :)

got it working fine now, lol so webman made the fan work twice as much as the normal one in speed.

no more high speed nosies after disabling the webman setting :)

Interesting. I never do those .Config files things. I run Megaman X7, 78, Klonoa 2 and some others PS2 along with Japanese games and ran just fine. They are ISOS files. Dont know why bother to do .config things. I think the latest version dont need config anymore.

It traditionally gets stuck on a ladder in the swamp on the old bc 60gb

You can try to use ManaGunZ, it'll increase compatibility for PS2 games just by loading games off of this.

Config files can be found here.
Just find your game ID number.

Note however that not all games are compatible, since this is emulation, and also, as mentionned above, you can only store your games on internal hdd. Check the compatibility list to see if the games you want to play are compatible. If you have a ps2 laying around you could always look into freemcboot, and play games via usb; although fmv's are laggy and loading times are sometimes slow, game compatibility is much higher since it's the original hardware.

Hey man! do you know if there is a way of having these games on XMB? Like an installed PKG with the custom CONFIG file. Is it possible?

You can load iso's through Webman straight from your XMB no pkg needed. If you want to install a pkg file there are two methods.
One is from official Sony pkg files. And the other is to convert iso's to pkg.

One thing to note is that there is sound and graphic glitches using iso's as games are not being emulated properly. I noticed this with Final Fantasy 8. Iso has glitches in screen transitions and sound was off. The official pkg from Sony is emulated better. Not sure if I got a bad Iso or not. And I don't know if this will happen if I convert it to a installable pkg file, I never tried iso to pkg method.

The thing is, I wanted to have just the problematic PS2 games like Castlevania CoD, Dawn of Mana like installed pkgs and select them from the XMB. But seeing that the CONFIG file is only "readable" by being on cobra mode guess I'm out of luck and will have to run just those two games from webman.

Ya I actually don't know how to get the CONFIG file to work even though webman. I tried it with one game which was Battle Front II and couldn't get it to work.
I don't know. Haven't messed with my Ps3 in a while.
