Hacking PS2 emulator

Is running the Vita as a PS2 Emulator possible yet?

I haven't kept up with the CFW progress on the Vita.

There are some PSP ports of PS2 games so that's something at least for him.

Medievil Resurrection's a remake of the PS1 Medievil game and I read that the camera's not very good on the PSP version but I wonder if the second analogue stick on Vita/DS3/DS4 will change that. Possibly not as it wasn't programmed to.

That would be sweet. I too was hoping the Vita would have been a portable ps2. It seems as though Sony would rather it wouldn't exist, which is a real bummer.

Given how bad the overhead on PS2 emulation is on PC, I doubt there's a way portable devices can emulate a PS2 any time soon.

Hope is not lost completely lost though, I remember reading that it would be possible to play Dreamcast games at full speed on the Vita.

Well the ps1 and anything older, can go 100% speed + save states and etc on the vita.

We just need to crack the vita open, then after that a few months we will have a lot of emulators around

What do you mean? Ps2 emulation isn't bad on computers. I doubt the Vita would be able to emulate a PS2 at playable speeds but the way phones keeping evolving I wouldn't be surprised if we see an emulator on Android like we have Dolphin.

I guess I am meaning more along the lines of something like Persona 4 Golden. The games only suffered a slight bit being crammed into the Vita. I wish we would see more like that.

Well i use pcsx2 all the time and it runs like a charm on my pc , i don't think its bad ... Its a really good ps2 emulator .
As for the vita , i know its a powerful device but i don't think running ps2 games on it is possible yet , idk.
There is a ps2 emulator called "Play!" in development for android/ios , if a hacker or a programmer could port it to the vita i think its going to work , i mean if they work on phones why not on the vita ?
