PS1/2 PS1 Optical Connector

I got a couple free PS1's from a convention and I am looking to attempt to repair them. This PS1 is missing a connector for the disk reader which is seen on the strip of metal in the oictpic and I cannot find where it might go. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
