Soo guys, how well does this emulation work?

Do most games work great?
Oh yeah it runs very well:

The emulator isn't perfect but most stuff runs flawlessly.

N64 emulation is also progressing, if a little more slowly.

Darkforce, have you tried playing FF8 on there? And for the UMD emulator, with Dark Alex's 3.40OE-A firmware, will I have to convert it or just put it on my memory stick?

Damn! Never tried PSX on PSP, I knew about it but never tried it. Might give MoH a go tomorrow.

4.yes you can use your own ps1 isos. however you need the game code (SLUS-xxxx)
that's not necessary, you can type in any code you like...I've done it with Castlevania SotN and Alundra, and both work flawlessly...

too bad the PSP dpad is not suited well for 2D RPGs...it's that fcking abysmal

(if there's one reason I'd buy an updated PSP, it's the dpad)

I fixed my Dpad by using the Ufighter Mod and it works fine now. Very responsive and exactly how it should have been in the first place.

By the way, although you can type in any code you like, it has been discovered that Sony sometimes links specific codes of Psx titles to specific patches that the emulator will use. So sometimes using a different code will cause a game not to work or to crash.

Some have found that one crash fix for a specific title also fixes another when using the same code. For example a crash fix may be linked to an SLUS code for Command & Conquer but will still fix another title for a completely different game when using the same code. Obviously these codes don't take into account that we would have been able to use our own codes and run our own hacked Psx titles. Someone figured this out when they viewed one of the Psx prx inside of a hex editor noticing a list of games.

soo.. do hacked rips work with their slus code?

Because its way better to have a nice 40 meg rip of tekken than a bloated cd rip.

ok. does anyone know what converter I can use to convert an mp3 file to an at3 file? I want to convert so I can customize the eboot when I convert my ISOs. Thanks everyone for their advice so far!

EDIT: Is there some list indicating what firmware some PSP games require you to upgrade to?

But in the readme file of the 3.40 OE-A firmware from Dark Alex's website, it says this and I quote it:

"Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you are in any SE/OE version."

Does SE mean Sony firmware or something else? Please cause I don't want to screw this up.

SE/OE version means if you already have a custom firmware earlier version on your PSP and want to upgrade.

You HAVE! to be on version 1.5 to install the custom firmware for the first time.
