So... I'm a big dumbass, yes, I know, but... I haven't played with the 3DS XL for a loooooooooong loooooooooooong time, such a long time that I even forgot I had the Supercard and that I shouldn't update the console without updating the card first.
I guess you know where I'm going... I bought the freaking pokemon from the eshop (since in my country the games price is over $80) and, obviously, it made me update the console.

A few days after updating the console, I tried to play Prof Layton from the DSTWO and, ofc, it gave me an error.
I tried updating the DSTWO by doing the .bat thing and I keep getting the error.
    This is what I've done:
Making a backup of my stuff on the mSD, downloading the latest firmware for the DSTWO and putting it in the root of the mSD (whilst keeping the OS folder), loading the DSTWO from the console, wait a few minutes, and nothing, still getting the error.
I don't have a DS to update the card so don't even mention it... should I format the DSTWO or is it bricked or something?
    Thanks.

Did you tryed to rename dstwoupdate.dat to dstwoupdateb.dat on the Micro SD card, then left the DStwo for about 3 minutes at the error screen?

Follow the instructions exactly, and make sure you rename the file correctly. Simple errors can cause big problems.

It's dat, not bat. If you renamed the file to .bat then it won't work.

It's bat when you try to update the flashcard with an updated console.
My main question is... can be my DSTWO bricked?

    No, it's not.

Originally the file is dstwoupdate.dat... you rename it to dstwoupdateb.dat to force it to update on an updated console. If you are renaming it to .bat then it will not work.

It is possible to brick the DSTWO if you cut off power mid update. But from the sound of it you've just been naming the update file incorrectly so it hasn't even run the update.

.bat are batch files used on Windows.
    (If you didn't know)

That's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to force an update by renaming the file from .dat to .bat that's wrong?

Sorry, I have reading issues it seems, since I've been reading your comment as "you rename it to dstwoupdate.bat". Jesus, sorry guys. Like I said, long time since the last time I updated my DSTWO (And I did use the b.dat when I just got the card since I have no DSL and my 3DS was updated) and I forgot everything about it.
    Thank you so much!
