Also if your concerned about breaking your 3ds then you shouldn't be hacking it in the first place.

That previous attempt doesn't matter anymore.
As I said copy the arm9loaderhax.bin and boot.3dsx to the sd card. https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases/download/v6.6/Luma3DSv6.6.7z Replace any files you already have. boot menuhax and a menu pops up. Check "Show NAND or user string in System Settings" then press start. This is the easiest thing you can do. Now you changed your cfw to luma and updated your menuhax setup without losing anything. If you can't do that then you should not be hacking your 3ds.

You aren't going to break your console by installing Luma I agree with what xtheman said if you can't do that you shouldn't be hacking your 3ds

You need to change lumas path
Use custom path: If the option is on, you can change the default location of the Luma3DS payload (which is arm9loaderhax.bin on the root of the SD/CTRNAND) by typing it in a path.txt file in luma, it must start with a / and not exceed 55 characters.
This path will be attempted on both SD and CTRNAND, and is also picked up if not booting via A9LH.

@RinkuSonic41 Your problem is you have to turn on the setting. Boot menuhax holding select and turn on "Use custom path"
