No it won't work. But there's probably tons of light http server around, just to see if it fit your needs. I may implement an ftp browser in the future, but its not a priority.
Alright, sounds great, looks like I'll be strapping a pi zero to my hard drive lol

By the way, what download speed do you guys get with ftp on the switch? I can't get more than 1mo/s, which is not very good for streaming... Is there a problem with my wlan router?
nop, same by me, only sxos is a little bit faster, 2.1

And i have a AVM with channel adjustment and dual wifi

using SD Files 11.5 - Sys-Ftpd module enabled... I get 1mb/sec max

Fantastic dude, been hanging out for a video player for a while now. The ability to switch audio tracks, sub tracks (as well as use external sub files,) and a functional chapter system (ie. skip to next chapter) would be great to have. The ability to set defaults for audio & sub tracks, both in numeric form and English Audio / French Subtitles form would be amazing. Just throwing things out there, but I would be more than happy for damn near any functional media player and am looking forward to it!

This is great news. Feels like one of the big missing pieces in making the switch an all in one device.

Now fingers crossed you can release it before my 15 hr flight back home for Christmas on the 21st! Good luck and thanks for the hard work

Well, Friday is a possibility, but i can't promise :)

is it SD Card only at the moment or does it support USB HDD??
It support sdcard and http (web server with directory listing). Thought, you can edit the config file to set a default "home" directory, so I guess you could set the USB path here (untested).

I think the only way to access a usb device right now would be using SX OS's usb library. Sounds like libnx's usb stuff is getting close to ready tho.

For now all is software (libffmpeg), including HEVC (seems to work fine at 720p, 1080p have random success depending on the bit rate/quality).
