It simply lowers the brightness when the screen is dark to save power. It's barely noticeable and worth it because it increases battery life about 10% or so.
It's kinda like Dynamic Contrast for tellies, but it makes the screen darker when the screen has more dark elements in it. I've heard it greatly increases battery life. Even Ninty encourages the usage of it.ACWWFAN said:
