as for priibooter_gui as installed file. you mean the boot.dol that is in the priibootergui folder?

Yes, priibootergui. It is really intended to be installed in priiloader. It has no other use ;)

postLoader 3.71.6

* Is no more required that the FAT32 partition dedicated to wii homebrew is the first one.
* Removed "Set default loader..." when running under neek
* DML: added support for fst format (GCReEx) [untested]. Can be very slow on rebuilding cache, with fst games.
* Corrected a bug on detecting "ID6_Gamename" format

Alright, I guess I was using priibooter_gui as the installed file.

ran from "installed file" in priiloader..
Anyways, It works great! didn't even test with usb loader gx this time, as i use configurable and checked that!

I had figured it was something wiht the ID format as no matter how many times I downloaded the covers, they never actually showed up...

I still can't get the autoboot to work. It won't power up my 2 TB WD mybook HD.

Autoboot works great with my 500 GB WD mypassport. so it must be something stopping it from powering on?
let me know if i can assist with that in any way!

OK, I wanted to make sure it was the HD not powering on and that the priibooter_gui installed file was the problem.
So, I installed usb loader dol to priiloader as the installed file. It works as it should.
So, i think priibooter_gui is doing something to prevent the HD from powering on...Maybe it is the boot up time?

well, I turned everything off and unplugged the HD.. Plugged it back in and restarted everything with priibooter_gui installed and set to autoboot and return. seems to be working great now!
one question: can the usbloader still write to the playlog?

LOL, sorry! Got a little excited there... I'll keep myself in check from now on!

side note:
updating the wii covers after adding a few more games seems to get stuck. The first time when it did them all went fine. But, now when it skips to the ones that are missing, it gets stuck on the first one...s

edit: it wasn't getting stuck just taking an extremely long time for some reason. probably network speed...

masterjakeway, can you create an (empty) file named ploader.log in the root of sd ? Then execute postloader and try to repeat operations that give you problems. Finally PM to me the content of the file. ;)

Note that pl will run much slower with logging enabled.

Thank you ;)

Hi stfour,

postloader (at least I think it's postloader) is creating a file SD:/stub.bin. Can you tell me what this is for (if it is being created by postloader)? Can I remove it? Or will it just be recreated?

I think you're also creating SD:/missgame.txt and SD:/misschan.txt. Could these be moved into the SD:/ploader folder? It always strikes me as odd when files are created in the root of a device when you have a perfectly good config folder as part of the design. :)

The stub.bin is the dump of memory area at 0x80001800... it will be always recreated. It has no use, I've just forgot to remove it.

SD:/missgame.txt and SD:/misschan.txt are a list of "items" that postloader was unable to download covers. Yes, they can be moved in config folder.

Thank you zfa ;)

Will do!
I'm running from usb, do I still need to put it at the root of an sd?

Logging is available only from SD. ;)

Is there any reason to have Priibooter GUI when you can just launch postLoader?

Yes, more then one*.

1) priibootergui is a simple program, and will receive much less update than postloader.
2) postLoader directly installed in priibooter is not updatable without accessing real nand. And I don't want write to real nand.
3) priibooter can be configured not only to run postloader, but also hbc, system menu, and neek2o without the need to have sd
4) priibooter init the usb device, so it is ready for point 3

* from my point of view ;)

Well if it has a point, I think it should also have an icon. I threw these three together. They are rough, but if you like them I would be happy to tweak them:

I like the first one best since it is much easier to read.

+1 for the first one.
but, i think it doesn't ever need to be loaded or installed on the usb or sd. Just in priiloader.
so, it really doesn't need an icon.
correct me if i'm wrong...

It appears in other places like the HBC and HBF. It's true most postLoader users won't see it, but it doesn't hurt to have an icon.

So, bad news for me...
ploader.log stays blank...

willing to try anything else you may require...
looks like postloader never even loads. makes sense i guess. It is on the USB drive that isn't loading up. priiloader_gui scans for the USB, can't find it, then show the option screen as to what i want to do. i.e. system menu, bootmii, etc.

question:
Am I really on warn status for triple posting one time? Wow! OK then. I don't see any messages in my warn log. But, I have to assume that is what it is for. How long am I on that for?

edit: i'm an idiot and should have actually read the forum rules...lol!

ploader.log stay blank becouse it is used only by postloader. priibootergui doesn't wirite to it.

So the current status is that priibootergui doesn't init the hdd. Maybe your hdd need longer init time ?

Can you try to do the following:
1) turn on the wii
2) enter in priiloader (pressing reset)
3) wait 10 seconds
4) run "installed file"
