still will not load. same high pitched squeal. tried moving it out of my games sub-directory strait into apps, still no go.

Do you keep pacman roms in /pacman/roms or in /apps/pacman/roms ?
tried both , same results. hbc launches ok though. maybe i'll reformat and go from there.

postLoader2 b25

CODE* Adopted app_booter r214 from wiiXplorer (thank's dimok). postLoader size reduced by about 100Kb
* Adjusted code (hb and triiforce interface) to be compatible with app_booter
* Corrected arguments passing... now if no args are found, arg struct will not be created. This solve problems related to dollz that was solved with a not-so-skilled trick in b20.
* Elf args should be supported (untested)
* hb without meta.xml now are named as folder name (before thay was shown as )
* Now classic controller can change page with +/- and shoulder buttons
* Corrected a bug on homebrew browser when hiding an application.
* update downloadable sources to b25

>

@defiant, let me know if this version works with pacman

@Troelzkii, maybe this version solve your dump. I found a bug, but I'm not sure it is related to your problem, because I was not able to reproduce it.

now I just get a black screen with a different pitched squeal. I no longer see the frozen arcade startup for pacman. weird. is there a way to get old versions to test? that way i can back track to last working version.

ok, I will prepare it.

for me pacman freezes when I was keeping roms under app folder. Using root also b24 worked. When working with b25 it freeze with both folders until I changed how I use arguments. Hopes it isn't a casuality, as pacman doesn't use args (I've checked the code).

Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem. I still get stack dump, however I did some more testing and found that my problem is only occuring when pressing "B" on som apps like homebrew channel installer, a cios installer app (cannot remember which). I will make a complete list of which apps I can press "B" on with out problems and which ones makes a stack dump.

Sorry for the misleading information in my first post. It seems like it was just a coincident that the three first apps I tried to hide worked and the rest didn't.

Can you paste the meta.xml of one of app that causes stack dump ?

If think that can be the only cause...

@bnm81002, I'm working on it... yes, it will update on usb, but only if it is in usb:/apps/ploader (and obviusly sd:/ and sd:/apps/ploader)

About your themes, how do you turn off the slight transparency when channels are at rest? ie; no cursor is pointed at them. I think that's why they seem faded in a post I made previously.

Defian, can you try this version of pacman

I have added slow debug output so we can check where stop.

(anyway pacman support only /pacman/roms, not /app/pacman/roms even if stated in meta.xml)

Thank you for you testing.

Confirm, I now have pacman working under b27t1. Seems I was missing a pacman.6e. I'm not sure why it was working under hbc but it was. So what version of postloader should we use? I'm going to try b26...

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
