Posting images without a Link in the IRC Chat

Something that prevents me from chatting inside of the IRC GBATemp chat is being to send images by copy and pasting directly onto the chat OR sending an image through a special menu that doesn't involve providing a link to the said image. Is it possible that it can be added, along with having a notification about new activity being put inside of the notification box similar to how you can get one if somebody mentions you? I have made an article about that already but if I recall correctly, it hasn't been discussed at all through the faces of those that have run the site.

That is not IRC, IRC was a protocol to share conversations over internet, had their own clients and servers. you are talking about the Chat function on the GBATemp portal, and yes, the image loading there is restricted because some *&^%$&*s abused of it on the past. so if you like to share images make a thread or use Funny-memebox-groups to that.

That is not IRC, IRC was a protocol to share conversations over internet, had their own clients and servers. you are talking about the Chat function on the GBATemp portal

Ah, I understand the differences between each of them now. I always like to call it IRC for some reaosn, but I need to just remember that it's just a basic chat portal on the Temp.

And how long has it been since this issue? I dislike it when things like this happen and they don't ever come back because who knows if an issue like this happens again?

Commonly known as a shoutbox, popular on forums.

I'm not sure entirely what is your question, you want to attach images directly without uploading them on an imagehost? That's something I wish was easier in the status updates, you can do it but only from your profile page or by posting a status update with text only first, and then going to the edit form to add the image. But it's not possible in the shoutbox AFAIK.

You can use any number of image hosts to make the process easier, by adding a 1-click upload option when you right click on an image. Or Dropbox, Google Drive etc. You can use bbcode in the shoutbox ([img]link goes here[/img]) just like any other place on the forum, to post images without using the menu.

I want to post images without having to require a link in the general chit chat. Compared to the fourms which you're able to copy and paste images without having to post a link and such, you cannot do this inside of there. It's one of the reasons that prevent me from really utilizing it because I am not used to using sites like Imgur instead of directly posting the image.

What I do is post the picture to my profile page, then click on that picture on your profile page and select create shortcut link, then in chat, add image, paste that link.
