I use the default waves. I would use a custom wallpaper, but my PSP deletes all onboard data (Except flashed CFW, luckily) whenever it completely powers off.

That...Doesn't sound right O.o
Actually, that's not the whole story. 9 times out of 10, when it powers off, when I turn it back on, it shows the waves like normal, and nothing else, just the waves waving. The only way to get it to properly start back up is to factory reset it. It happened once I dropped it. The UMD drive no longer reads discs, and there's a chance the system will crash when starting any software.

Ouch >< . Well, sounds like a new PSP might be in order =/

There's a silver 3000 model for a decent price. Personally, I'd jump on that unless the motherboard for those models has CFW issues (such as not being able to use CIPL flashing).

Not yet. CFW has extended it's lifespan/usefulness, and I've already got financial issues as far as gaming goes (PS3 YLOD'd on me last month). Plus, I have another PSP that DOES still read discs, but has a broken screen (And a lost battery). If I could get CFW on that, I'd be good to go for that one.

Are the two compatible for parts? That would be my obvious question...

Nope. One's a fat, one's a slim. Besides, if I get my Fat (Broken screen) modded, I could play PSP games with my friends when they come over. Have my UMD in one PSP, ISO in the other (I only have one memory stick)
