Would it be possible to port and develop a 3ds edition of splatoon ?
You mean online? I assume you'd need a sever/servers to have it run without lag, but I don't see why it isn't possible.
It would probably get shutdown if it got anywhere near good though.
Simple answer is no.
The hardware is way too different.
When @Ericzander senpai notices me
That's way out of the scope of homebrew development (especially 3ds). It's a commercial project in every sense of the word.
I mean offline, no online gaming things
In that case I think it's possible.
I don't think nobody will do it, or should do it though, since it would be a lot of work for something so inferior to the original.
Aw shucks. It's cuz my name is yellow isn't it?
I still don't think it's possible without a dedicated team working on it, planning to sell it for a profit. Like if Nintendo wanted to they probably could. A few hackers in their free time? No way in hell.
I hope this thread won't end up turning into something hateful and full of spam. So let's try to end it fast. It will never happen unless Nintendo decides to make it happen... Which seems extremely unlikely.
Wrong forum? Also, it would be extremely inferior, the 3ds is really weak, maybe if it was developed for the new3ds only, it could be somewhat acceptable.
It would be possable, but it would not be anyware as good as on the Wii U, it even has some frame lag on there.
You could maybe made a homebrew de-make of the offline game, but there would be no way to replicate the online, at least a not very practical way to make it.
There is just way too much liquid physics in this game, the amount of ink that gets thrown around, the console won't be able to handle it, especially judging how fast it gets painted over on a regular basis. N3DS won't be able to handle it in the least. Also isn't 90% of the game like multiplayer?
Unless there's some sort of a way to stream its gameplay on your 3DS via ADHOC then probably it's possible.
Maybe it's feasible with the the ALBW engine.
Nah, you would want to start fresh. Diffrent needs all together.
You can change the sprites in Yeti3DS to inklings, and change the rooms texture.
I mean, you could recreate it, but it would take several months and still be shitty in comparison. Kinda like how Portal was recreated but is ultimately a barely playable clone of a good game. It's a waste of time, people should make something novel and interesting.
I agree, we need some original ideas in the 3DS scene.
Use an NES emulator and emulate this.
I thought you learned not to +1 everything.
