Is it possible to remove the SD card while running CFW (Reinx) and the switch is in sleep mode? I want this in order to add new backups to it without having to turn my Switch on and off.

Switch detects the removal of it, don't see it ever being patched out either as it's possible to corrupt the card by doing this.

I don't think so. You could use ftp to transfer files wirelessly. https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client

edit: There is also a payload that allows you to transfer files over USB.

You can install backups using tinfoil via USB or wirelessly.

Why not download RNX Toolkit, activate auto rcm, remove the sd card , copy your stuff and put it back in? (even if its on/off I dont think it really matters, right?)
Also there is the possibility of ftp
