I've enabled parental controls as an extra, extra security measure.

When I get into GateWay mode and launch M&L Dream Team, this popup comes up:

"This software is restricted by the Parental Controls Software Rating settings. Would you like to remove this restriction?"

Now, yes, I do have parental controls enabled. But, no, I do NOT have any Rating Setting restrictions enabled. So why is this error showing up?

(I can still run the game, and this happens everytime I boot the rom; but I don't want to have to keep plugging in my pin.)

Is this a 'gateway security measure' that takes place of the 'update' notification?

Thanks for all your help.

What sort of "extra, extra" security measure?

Try turning off the parental controls entirely and see what happens.

Accidental updating. My friend's kids come over occasionally and play with my 3ds, so, I place the parental controls so the 3DS won't update, accidentally.

And for anyone saying, "Just enter the pin, LOL". Grow up. That's not an answer.

Have you tried removing the restrictions from everything except updates?

Playing other region games requires you to enter the pin. So enter the pin, or take off the pin and boot the game. Once done put the pin back on.

Every region have different age restriction codes, since the rom for Mario & Luigi 4 in the wild is the Euro version and Thirty3Three's 3DS seems to be american the age restriction codes won't match, so it'll trigger the input pin dialog box, even if you choose to not restrict by age ratings.
