Will there ever be such a Pokemon game? And what do you think of it?

Such a game would probably be an MMO for the new system (i'll just refer to it as Cafe, but I hate to since I know that wont be the real name). It might even start with just two regions at that (Kanto and Johto), but Nintendo could release expansions for other regions. If Nintendo and Gamefreak actually took a lot of time and worked on something like this, they could have a WOW killer. With the ability to stream it to your controller, there would be a lot that could be accomplished for such a game. A sweet ass expansion would be to include the Orange Islands from the series, and even include the obscure gym battles from that series.

Lol. That won't happen. Ever.

It will probablt never be released but its an awsome idea!
I have always wanted to hack the 3rd gen games to have the first 3 regions in one game. Very much possible, but too much work and hassle. I wont be bothered working on it for too long lol.

It won't happen, I believe there is a timeline issue, we would have to travel backwards and forwards in time for each version of the games released to make it a whole somehow.

Unless those regions are set to the same time then a new plot is needed for each region to play through them again.

Not much backwards, really. They could easily pull out a steady timeline, just to go along with the anime.

Well this is not the anime, the events of the games are in this order

RBY/RSE
then
GSC/DPPt

You would have to start with RBY, time travel to GSC events, then go backwards in time for RSE as it took place the same time around RBY and then time travel forward to Dppt.

It's awkward

Well, yes. Each game is set up at a different time with different timeline.
However the OP didnt ask to join all the existing games together with all regions, THAT would certainly make no sense.
It was more of a thought for a game with all regions, like the Anime.

a game having all regions won't be following the timeline.

it should be an mmo, with each region having exclusive pokemons.

Then the plot has to change for a region or two as the occurrence of events have changed.

I see where you are getting to.
They would have to re-create the whole plot and events if they want to make all regions available in one game. UNLESS they just do it like the anime. [Player] being Ash.

lol yeah like the anime, where ash never ages, even when GCS events are set 3 years ahead of RBY he is still bloody 10 and the anime doesn't follow the pokemon games in terms of timeline.

yeah, all what happened in previous games would be legends or stories. but it doesn't need to be 50 or 100 years in the future. maybe a little like what happened in the second gen.

LOL. I was 9 when I first played Pokemon. Now I am friggin 19 and Ash is still 10

If all regions were made to be in one game, the only possibilities are MMO and the anime plot.

Anime plot will screw up the existing timeline they have stuck to, it's best if they just do the right order, play through RBY, RSE, GSC , DPPt and then b/w. But if you want all the regions to be on the same scale just shift rby and rse 3 years ahead and change the plot. You are able to go through each region freely.

Oh wait I don't know where b/w are on the time scale!!

pokemon level or player level?
He obviously meant pokemon level.
If its restricted to 100, after first or second region all trainer battles will be held at 100

again
UNLESS its like the anime! Ash leaves his pokemon with Oak or just releases them

leveling up should be more difficult.

You wanna be stuck with TACKLE and Ember forever instead of Body Slam and Flamethrower?
if leveling was made more difficult, you would never learn a good move to use.
And by difficult, you mean difficult as FUCK, cuz 4-5 regions.. if they want to maintain leveling they would have to completly tighten it up.

OR

they could just do a leveling system like oblivion
wink.gif
.

nope. leveling up in mmos if you're a lowbie is normally easy. maybe when you reach lvl 50-60 then you'll need the 10 hour sessions. and you don't just have one poke.

please explain the level-up system in oblivion?

and all regions are accessible, competitions are done maybe quarterly or yearly.
