Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet — Cheat Codes & PKHeX Guide

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

Encounter Resources Notice: Encounter code resources are not updated for 4.0.0. Only main cheats are functional for 4.0.0 at this time.

Patience is appreciated: New cheats will arrive as they are developed. Asking for new cheats will not speed up the process.

Emulator Support: Cheats are designed and tested for Atmosphere CFW on hardware. Emulator performance (Ryujinx, Eden, etc.) is not guaranteed, and creators do not optimize specifically for emulator forks.

Cheats not working after an update?

Verify your game update's Build ID matches the active cheat file name below.

Perform a clean & fresh reinstall of EdiZon / EdiZon Overlay / Tesla Menu / Breeze (do not just overwrite existing files).

Step 1: Backup Your Game Save

Open JKSV or Checkpoint on your Switch running Atmosphere CFW.
Locate Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.
Create two separate backups:
- Backup 1 (Clean): Your emergency untouched fallback save in case of errors.
- Backup 2 (Edit): The save you intend to modify in PKHeX and restore to the system.
Mount your SD card to your PC (via FTP, NX-Shell, or Card Reader).
Inside your JKSV/Checkpoint folder, locate your backup directory containing main, backup, and trade.
The two primary files you will edit and replace are main and backup.

Step 2: Load and Verify Trainer Credentials

Launch PKHeX, select File > Open, and select the main file inside your second backup folder.
Right-click a Pokémon you caught natively in your game and select View.
Navigate directly to the OT/Misc tab.
Important: Note down your exact TID, SID, and OT. You must assign these to every custom Pokémon you create so they obey commands and pass in-game legality checks.

Step 3: Main Tab Setup

★ (Star Icon): Toggles Shiny status.
PID: Click Reroll for every generated Pokémon so they remain distinct.
Species / Nickname: Select species; tick nickname only if applying a custom name.
Level / XP: Set level directly; PKHeX automatically adjusts the experience curve.
Nature & Stat Nature: Keep both identical to ensure base stats reflect correctly.
Held Item & Ability: Select desired item and ability (an "H" indicates a Hidden Ability).
Friendship: Max value is 255.
Scale / Weight / Height: Adjust dimensions freely for sizing marks.

Step 4: Met Location

Ensure the version matches (Scarlet vs. Violet exclusives).
Right-click the Met Location dropdown to auto-detect valid encounter zones and valid encounter levels.
Match Met Level with Obedience Level.

Step 5: Stats & Tera Types

IVs & EVs: Individual values cap at 31 per stat. Total EVs cannot exceed 510.
Tera Type & Override: Match original and override types unless specifically simulating a Medali Tera change.

Step 6: Attacks & Legality Check

Movesets: Green indicates native level-up moves; gray indicates TM moves. If using a TM move, add it into the Relearn Moves pool below.
Legality Icon:
- Green Checkmark: Safe and verified legal.
- Red Warning: Click the icon to view illegality flags (e.g., missing TM relearn records) and resolve them.

Step 7: Injecting to Box & Exporting

Right-click an empty box slot and choose Set.
(Optional) Use SAV > Items or SAV > Pokedex to edit inventory limits (999 max) or trigger Dex completion flags.
Go to File > Export SAV... > Export main.
Overwrite both the main file and backup file in your second backup directory.
Return the SD card to your Switch, launch JKSV/Checkpoint, and restore the edited backup.

Disabling Cheats On by Default:
1. Copy sd:/atmosphere/config_templates/system_settings.ini to sd:/atmosphere/config/system_settings.ini.
2. Open the file, locate ;dmnt_cheats_enabled_by_default = u8!0x1.
3. Change it to dmnt_cheats_enabled_by_default = u8!0x0 and remove the semicolon (;).
Disabling / Overriding Cheats on Boot:
1. Copy sd:/atmosphere/config_templates/override_config.ini to sd:/atmosphere/config/override_config.ini.

Cheats Not Showing Up:
- Open the overlay menu shortcut: L + D-Pad Down + R3 (Right Stick Click).
- Ensure your cheat filename exactly matches the Build ID of your installed update.
- Keep your cheat text file size below 32 KB to prevent memory truncation.
Crashing / Freezing on Boot:
- Avoid enabling more than 5–6 codes simultaneously.
- Ensure cheat titles do not contain nested brackets or illegal punctuation.
- Move heavy codes (like "Catch Trainer's Pokémon") to the very bottom of the file.
- Update your EdiZon Overlay to the latest release.
Communication Errors:
- Real-time memory editing triggers immediate desyncs during online play. Turn off all codes before connecting to online tera raids or battles.

Evolution Warning:
With "Ignore Evolution Method" enabled, Pokémon will always evolve into the first index in split branches (e.g., Eevee, Ralts, Applin). Disable this code prior to leveling split-branch Pokémon.

Configure your desired sub-codes from below into your cheat file:

1. Encounter Species & Form Modifier:

Replace XXXX with the Hex Species ID from this ID post.
W is the Form ID (0 = Default / Standard, 1 = Regional / Hisuian forms).

2. Encounter Held Item Modifier:

04000000 03075538 0000YYYY

Replace YYYY with the Hex Item ID from this Item list post.

3. Encounter Level Modifier:

Code:

[Encounter Level (v1.0.1)]
04000000 0307553C 000000ZZ

Replace ZZ with the desired level in hexadecimal (01 = Level 1, 32 = Level 50, 64 = Level 100).

Execution: Enter any interior building/door transition, then walk back out into the open world to force the spawn tables to refresh.

@OblivionReign I do not have the game yet, but giving it's open world nature, I believe it will make sense codes for movement speed and maybe no clipping.

Haha that was quick. Well I know one cheat that's going to be requested/needed ASAP is all tms since they made them single use again.

Right now I'm just praying to Arceus that I get it downloaded before I lose power from this damn hurricane. Only 4th November hurricane in record.

Afaik it's only available in a private shop rn. Give it a few hours or a day it will be on every single rom site.

60FPS mod is a must. Having played the previous games, it is truly disappointing games don't even try for 60 and lock at 30

For a lot of people that are using Emu;

CE can be used to search for exact values using 4 byte search. You can easily change the amount of potions, pokeballs etc and then sell those at the earliest opportunity.

I imagine you can also 4 byte search pokedollars but I haven't tried yet.

Health may be a Float.

So far I haven't seen any big endian use on Ryu.
