Are there any cheat codes that lets pokemon obey you even with 0 gym badges
this reminds me of old gens posts where someone would ask this and another person posted the "have all badges" code. then they come back after trying it realize it breaks their save and can no longer progress the story due to the flags already having been activated. Trolling was an art on /vp/ done for the lulz sometimes.

That feel when you say how to do stuff 80 times and no one reads ur posts then acts like they discovered how to do the things themselves
:<
I think I get why everyone is so psychotic about getting credit now although I still don't care that much I guess. Just sucks re-reading the same "I DISCOVERED HOW TO DO THIS" posts over and over mostly

Thanks for sharing. Now China has no resources because it was forced to close by the government, so I had to come here to find resources.

Can we get an easier to use x999 item code? I follow the instructions exactly as read (have x2 item > open bag > turn on code > turn off code > make pokemon hold x1 > ______) and at this point the game "freezes". It is still playing music but the game is unresponsive and never actually crashes but I can't do anything other than force close it. By the time I turn the disable x999 code on like in the instructions, the game has gotten like this, there's no workaround and i've attempted it 8 times now.

It's the only way as of now untill. Pkhex but I've found a less buggy way go to the mart go to the item you have two of activate the code sell 1 it'll give you the x999 deactivate the code exit the mart and save I've had way less crashes doing it that way then pokemon holding method

I can't figure out the clock in this game. I tried tracking it but it seems like time passes when you're not playing.
Not literally. It's not like you save quit then sign in 5 minutes later, and in game it's 5 minutes later.
In game it could be the next day already.
I dunno how arceus worked cuz i didnt play it but I'll have to look into that.
I wanna make a switch between day and night basically
hmmm
also too bad i took this screenshot in handheld mode

You could try using luxray I know it worked for changing time on sword and shield

Actually, pokemon caught at a higher level. If you level up pokemon you got at low levels, such as your starter, to level 100 before doing any gym you will still be able to control them without issues, but a pokemon captured at level 21 won't obey you from the start without gym badges.
Yeah, this is funny wording because it made me do a double take (In game)
I decided to try it to make a catcher mon
I caught a lvl 12 pokemon and gave it a couple xp XL candies and boom lvl 50 mon and it still listens lul
What a weird way to do it.
I wonder if this means you could get traded a pokemon who's level 100 but was caught at level 5 and it would work with no badges OR if it counts "YOU" as catching it when it arrives from the trade thereby making it not obey

What the heck? How did that work first time I've heard of that.
side note
The time of my system doesn't seem to matter to the game. The date does but the time is just wild and seems to follow it's own pattern

interesting question because traditionally a pokemon got in trade does go stronger faster, perhaps it would be a polarity check at the very least. if it counts "YOU" as catching it when it arrives from the trade thereby making it not obey. they have memory values of their previous trainers in pkhex for certain.

also thinking about it, it makes sense to have the obey mechanic like this since its very open world, I'm not even trying and i keep being overleveled for everything. Can imagine it would get frustratnig overleveling your pokemon every 10 steps if they started ignoring you too
Need to make exp x0.25 code or something lol
The only non cheat way to avoid this is probably ignoring trainer battles or just swapping out party mons when they gt too high for the area.
I do this anyways personally, I always have a sidebox with my pokemon in progress and my main team then i swip and swap as needed. Comfy.

I don't think the code does it correct, having it name in Japanese doesn't matter if it the wrong region tag, you need the pokemon from a different region that how the Masuda method work.
As far as I can tell the pokemon has the correct language "tag", it's just that it never shows you any language tags for pokemon you are the original trainer of. So you need to trade the pokemon with someone else to see its actual language tag.

Or else you can see it by changing your trainer ID; all the pokemon you caught with a different language than the one you have the cheat set to will then have the tag, as expected. Or perhaps a better approach would be to change your trainer ID before capturing it, then change it back, making that pokemon be forever seen as traded.

(If you want to know where your trainer ID is in memory, search for your trainer name in UTF-16, then go 16 (0x10) bytes before where the name starts; there you will have the 32-bits number that, when converted to decimal, is your trainer ID (the last 6 digits) and secret ID (the rest of it). But make sure to jot down your trainer and secret IDs before you mess with it, as before PKHex updates there is no way to recover them if you lose them.)

I'm not sure if, or how, this affects egg generation. But at the very least those "foreign" pokemon should work as normal when held by someone other than the original trainer (including yourself when you change your trainer ID).

truth may have just been for the sake of quality of life gameplay and that seems like the right decision if you wanna avoid a scale system.

scaling would be cool but only if it was by area still somehow.
It would just get annoying if you went to the 4th gym and now every pokemon you see even in the beginning zone is now a lvl 40 pidgey lul
I saw the discussion on /vp/ about how it should be scaled but i dunno. Sometimes it would be nice but other times it would be annoying and pointless. It would HAVE to go off badge amount or something which would just make it the same as every other game just using a different method.
Speaking of pidgey WHERE MY BOY AT
Also why did they only give the fire starters REEE I WANT TOTODILE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

However, in games with level scaling, you might feel you're never improving, despite the wealth of skills and new equipment you've gained. This means that you may never get that feeling of accomplishment and gratification that comes when you easily defeat enemies that previously gave you trouble

heres a pretty decent video on the topic

No, seems trades have their own flags.
