On my 3DS, I am trying to do an Ultra Sun Randomizer. I tried all the troubleshooting and followed the process correctly and nothing worked. Please help.

the 3ds hacks guide said make sure the titles folder is spelled correctly, boot.firm is on root of SD card, and enable game patching is enabled.

Yes, and..? What else did you do? What steps did you follow? Are we supposed to guess?

You haven't even said what the problem is yet aside from "nothing worked".

Lemme give a short explanation.
So I dumped the rom, put that and the update in PokeRandoZX, randomized it and put it in the folder with the right title id. And it didn't work.

To answer all your questions:
  1. The game worked, like it played normally, but it didn’t randomize
  2. Yes, I did follow the documentation. I put the folder layeredFS into SD:/luma/titles and the game didn’t randomize.
So basically, the game worked and launched, but it didn’t randomize. I have an update on the game and loaded into the randomizer too.

So you have a folder titled "00040000001B5000" in your titles folder, just to make sure? From memory it should just be a case of having that folder and patching enabled in the Luma settings, and it should work.

I mostly use emulator though so I'm a little rusty on using a console.

Game patching is enabled and the folder is titled correctly. However the game doesn't randomize. Maybe its an error with the randomizer.

The randomizer itself definitely works. I just tried it myself, admittedly on an emulator. Are you able to test it on Citra to see if the files are good? And have you tried uninstalling the update and seeing if that does anything?

I'll get back to you later after trying on citra.

Lesson learned: check the directories
